Mike Flom, Managing Director, AF Industries LLC

Mike personally provides consulting services and manages the work others in the Flom Consulting Network. He has been consulted by a wide a variety of wireless operators, application developers, GPS chip manufacturers, handset providers, investment bankers and VC's. He has presented at numerous wireless events like BREW and CTIA Wireless I/T, is the co-inventor of a U.S. and European Union wireless patent pending, and is a top telecom consultant for Gerson-Lehman and LBS Consultant for Zintro. 

Mike is the founder, and was the President/CEO of Portable Internet, Inc., a pioneering provider of consumer and location-based services.

Mike and his team at Portable Internet launched the first consumer city guide/navigator with sponsored content and distribution from Hertz, Hyatt, and Frommers. The company also launched the first wireless city guide/navigator with Ericsson and the first U.S. audible real-time navigation product with Palm. The first mass-market GPS Tracking was launched with Motorola and Nextel in September, 2002 and the first LBS-enabled workflow was added in mid-2003. Portable Internet created a full range of Java, BREW, Windows Mobile and Palm OS applications along with various partnerships with Sprint-Nextel, Verizon Wireless, at&t (Cingular), Microsoft, Intermec, Motorola, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments and others

Prior to Portable Internet, Mike was the VP and founding General Manager of Information Builders ERP (SAP, Peoplesoft) Division; helped launch the Information Warehouse at IBM, and created the first e-commerce Systems for American Express.

Mike has a B.S. Engineering and MBA from Arizona State University.
